Texas Hold'em, March 11, Landings Club
Ante up during Texas Hold‘em beginning at 6 p.m. Registration is from 5 – 5:45 p.m. Players must be in their seats by 5:45 p.m. Refreshment fee is $10 members and $15 nonmembers. A minimum of 20 registered players are needed to start play. Winners will receive commercial gift card or FSS Bucks based on membership eligibility. First place wins $100; Second place wins $75; Third place wins $50. We will serve food and beverages (menu may vary). All DoD civilians, active duty, reserves, and retirees are eligible to play. Sign up today at the Fitness Center front desk and compete with your unit. (Personnel must compete with their unit.) Hot Chocolate Hike, March 13, Outdoor Recreation
Lace up your hiking boots, grab the kids and join the Adventure Quest team as we celebrate the Year of the Air Force Family (YoAFF) with a FREE hot chocolate hike at Brecknock Park. Brecknock is a hidden gem nestled in Camden, DE and includes a beautiful 2 mile stretch of hiking trail which provides hikers glimpses of wildlife such as squirrels, deer and waterfowl. To keep you warm and energized we'll be serving hot chocolate on the trail. This is a family friendly trip which is a great introduction to hiking for young children. Indoor Flea Market, March 13, Community Center
Come check out the bargains located at the Landings Ballroom. Yard sale items, crafts, baked goods and many other items may be sold. No sales of pets permitted. Youth Spring Soccer, Youth Center
Dust off your child's cleats and get them ready to play spring soccer! Registration is ongoing until March 31 at the Youth Center. Cost is $27 per member and $30 for nonmembers. There is an additional $5 fee for late registration. Soccer age groups are 5-6 yrs and 7-8 yrs. All participants must have a current physical exam (within the last year) on file at the center. Teen Aviation Camp, registration ongoing, Youth Center
Get in on the action at the 2010 Teen Aviation Camp to be held June 5 - 10 at the Air Force Academy in Colorado. Activities include: rope course, CESSNA flight, flight simulator training, wilderness orienteering and much more! Space Camp, registration ongoing, Youth Center
Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama can be your summer's greatest adventure this year! Youth will experience, imagine and interact through space shuttle mission simulations, tour the center and have a chance to witness first hand the everyday challenges faced by astronauts. Interested youth and teens must be an eligible user of the Air Force Youth Programs between 12 - 18 years of age, have a GPA of 2.8 (documentation necessary). Online Tutoring, Library
The Library is now offering Tutor.com, a provider of online tutoring and educational support. With Tutor.com, K-12 students, college students and adults have access to educational help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from a live, certified subject-matter expert tutor. All sessions take place in Tutor.com's proprietary online classroom and are anonymous and are reviewed for quality control. To use Tutor.com you must first contact the Library to register and obtain a username. For more information, call 677-3992.

It’s Tax Time! – The base Library has limited numbers of federal tax forms and instructions available for pick up in the lobby of building 262. AF Marathon 2010, register now, Fitness Center
Online registration for the United States Air Force Marathon for 2010 is now open. The 14th annual U.S. Air Force Marathon is September 18, 2010 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Race events include a marathon, wheeled marathon, half-marathon and 10K, which starts and finishes on the grounds of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. No military affiliation is required to participate in marathon events. Registration fee rises as the race date approaches. For more information and to register, visit www.usafmarathon.com.

Broadening the Arts in Dover, Registration ongoing, Arts & Crafts Center
This event will be held on June 12, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the AMC Air Museum and is open to the public. Broadening the Arts in Dover is a collaboration of the Arts in Kent County to provide opportunities to emerging and professional artists, as well as art appreciators. Featured activities are exhibits, demonstrations, educators in the arts, musical entertainment, storytelling, culinary delights, vendors, Kidzone and more.

The Kidzone will have hands on art projects at the Imagination Station which focuses on utilizing reused materials and encouraging interaction with the natural environment. The Kid's Art Fair will give selected young artists, ages 6 - 14 years the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work. Also featured will be games and theatre in the round with local dancers teaching dance and storytellers set up inside the vintage airplanes.

This event will also host a juried Call to Entry for visual, literary and performing arts which depicts a theme of "American Dream". Cost for youth entries up to 17 years is free and $10 for adults for up to three pieces submitted. Deadline to enter is May 31.

We are seeking groups and individuals to participate in many capacities, to include colleges and universities that serve the arts, galleries and museums, theatres, dance and art studios, musical performers, visual and literary artists, acting ensembles, culinary artists and sponsors. FitFamily Program, hosted by the Youth Center and Fitness Center
Get Up! Get Out! Get Fit! Together! The FitFamily program focuses on the Child/Youth Programs along with the Fitness Center programs to provide fun activities for the entire family to participate in a fitness program. FitFamily is part of the Year of the Air Force Family and is open to all active duty, Air Force Reserve, Civilians and Air National Guard families.
