Group Pre-Separation Briefing, June 30, Airman & Family Readiness Center

4 Day TAP (Transition Assistance Program) Workshop, July 7, Airman and Family Readiness Center
This free workshop will teach information and skills for those planning retirement 18-24 months prior or separation 9-12 months prior from active duty. YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED A DD2648 PRIOR TO REGISTERING FOR ALL TRANSITION CLASSES. Classes are held Tuesday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. in building 263. VA representatives will be available on Friday afternoon during TAP Week. VA medical record reviews will be scheduled by appointment only. Lock-In at the Youth Center, July 10, Youth Center
Lock-In runs from 8 p.m. Friday thru 8 a.m. Saturday. This event is open for youth ages 9 to 13 years old. Activities include basketball, ping pong, Wii, DDR, air hockey, movies, sack races, face painting, arts & crafts and more! Cost is $25 per person. Sign-up deadline is July 6. Report Card Days, through July 31, Eagle Lanes Bowling Center
Show your report card (applies to 4th quarter 09 report cards only) - for every "A" on a child's report card they will receive a FREE game of bowling during the month of July. A maximum of three games allowed per day. For more information, call 677-3950.

FitFactor, through September 4, Youth Center
"Get up, Get out, and Get fit" is Air Force's challenge to youth, teens, parents, and staff participating in the AF FitFactor Program. This program encourages physical activity and healthy eating habits and is instrumental in educating youth on the benefits of an active lifestyle. In addition to having fun, FitFactor encourages youth to include friends and family in fun activities and games, limit the amount of screen time, adopt healthy exercise routines, and set personal goals. Parents are encouraged to participate in their youth/teen success by tracking activities and acting as health ambassadors. Prizes will be offered throughout the program. Summer Reading Program, through August 1, Library
Be Creative @ Your Library! is the 2009 Summer Reading Program theme for this year. Free activities will be held through August 1. Each child will receive a bookmark, reading log, activity handout and other special items. Those children completeing the program will receive a special certificate. This activity is for children ages 5 - 12 years. Advance registration is recommended. For more information, call 677-3992.

Club Membership Drive
All personnel who join any Air Force club through 15 August 09 will automatically receive three months free dues, a free cash back rewards program, and a 6-month 0% introductory APR. As an additional bonus, 200 new members will be randomly selected to receive $250 by registering via an on-line survey at www.afclubs.net.

AMC Seeks 2009 Air Force Marathon Participants
The 13th annual United States Air Force Marathon will be held September 19 at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH. Air Mobility Command will again sponsor an active duty team comprised of both male and female runners representing various age groups who compete in the full marathon. Team members will be selected based upon submitted AF Form 303. The completed forms should be submitted through the Fitness Center by July 3, 2009.

In addition to the official AMC competitive team, all others interested in competing in the Air Force Marathon are encouraged to do so at their own expense. Other events include a wheelchair division of the marathon (consisting of hand-cranked and push-rim divisions), half marathon, individual 10K, and 5K. The USAF Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K are held on September 19 and the 5K race is held on Sept. 18 at Wright State University. For more information, call 677-3963 or log on to www.usafmarathon.

Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA), Airman and Family Readiness Center
The Department of Defense's expanded MyCAA program is now offering up to $6,000 to military spouses who are interested in pursuing degree programs, licenses or credentials leading to careers in high growth, high demand portable career fields. Spouses of active duty members and activated members of the National Guard and Reserve Components are eligible for this program. Eligible spouses who are ready to explore portable careers options and develop a career goal and plan should establish a MyCAA Account by logging on to: aiportal.acc.af.mil (must access through a .mil computer).
